Support us by participating in our ongoing clinical studies
The Competence Network Multiple Sclerosis is carrying out a series of studies and projects for which we need the active participation of MS patients. Without a large amount of medical data, including MRT images, blood or CSF samples, gaining insight into the disease through research is not possible.
Our physicians are working with us, in their own interest, to help us better understand multiple sclerosis; they do not receive additonal pay for their research work. If you decide to participate in one of our studies, be aware that you may not necessarily profit directly as an individual patient. However, you will contribute to the general progress being made in MS research.
The KKNMS is currently performing the following studies:
- Cohort study: A long-term study which aims at identifying new biomarkers.
- ABC study: investigates how accurate a patient’s risk-benefit profile can be made using ABC transporters before begin of mitoxanthrone therapy.
- PIRIMS study: investigates how therapy success can be predicted early on in interferon beta therapy.
- PPMS study: looks for specific characteristics to aid in the diagnosis of inflammatory CNS disease and help clarify the different forms of MS.
