In search of the perfect image
The task force "Imaging“ is working on a network-overreaching standardization of imaging procedures for multiple sclerosis, the so-called magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRI plays an important role in the diagnosis and assessment of therapy success. Especially the information physicians obtain from MR images in patients with early onset MS can be essential for a reliable diagnosis and for determining the patient’s prognosis. It is therefore all the more important to work with standardized and thus comparable MRI protocols. The task force is developing guidelines for MRI technique, imaging interpretation and quality management.
