Krankheitsverlauf besser vorhersagen und individuelle Therapien ableiten
Für eine Langzeitstudie, bei der u.a. untersucht werden soll, welche Patienten schon in der Frühphase der MS von bestimmten Therapieformen profitieren, suchen einige der Studienzentren des Krankheitsbezogenen Kompetenznetzes Multiple Sklerose (KKNMS) noch Studienteilnehmer. Diese sogenannte MS-Kohortenstudie mit insgesamt 1.000 Teilnehmern ist für eine Laufzeit von zehn Jahren geplant. Insgesamt sind 18 MS-Zentren aus ganz Deutschland in das Forschungsprojekt eingebunden.
Einschlusskriterien:
- Mindestalter 18 Jahre
- Klinisch isoliertes Syndrom (KIS) innerhalb der letzten sechs Monate oder frühe schubförmige Multiple Sklerose maximal zwei Jahre nach den ersten Symptomen
- Bisher keine MS-Dauertherapie
Ausschlusskriterien:
- Faktoren, die gegen MRT-Untersuchungen sprechen (z.B. Unverträglichkeit von Kontrastmitteln, Herzschrittmacher, Platzangst etc.)
- Primär progrediente MS
