Information for patients about the available MS active substances

The patient handbook summarizes the knowledge about the effects, side effects and risks of therapy with the currently known multiple sclerosis drugs. The data on efficacy and side effects are based on the approval studies conducted in Germany.

The patient handbooks of the KKNMS and the German Multiple Sclerosis Society (DMSG) are intended to make it easier for you to choose an immunotherapy to treat your MS. You will also find information on how it works, how to take it and the necessary check-ups.

When compiling the information, the authors of the handbooks followed the “Guidelines for the preparation of health information” and wrote the information in patient-friendly language in line with the latest scientific findings. For this purpose, the key data from the approval studies and the official information for healthcare professionals were used, which the medical layperson is often unable to interpret easily without a corresponding explanation.
